The Melting Pot Social, a subsidiary of the well-established brand The Melting Pot, sought to create a fast-casual dining experience that appealed to a younger, cooler audience. As part of this initiative, I was brought in to help redesign their ad creative and social media posts. The objective was to honor the time-tested Melting Pot brand while simultaneously engaging a newer, more vibrant audience.

Challenges

The primary challenge was to find the right balance between maintaining the essence of The Melting Pot’s brand and creating fresh, captivating visuals that resonated with a younger demographic. Additionally, consistency in creating the new assets and evolving the materials into something innovative yet familiar was crucial.

Process

To address these challenges, I collaborated closely with the design team to gain a deep understanding of the brand and its desired image. We aimed to create visuals that honored The Melting Pot’s legacy while appealing to a younger audience.

Our process involved:

  • Gaining an understanding of the thing about The Melting Pot brand that people know and love, and incorporating them into our designs.

  • Brainstorming and developing initial concepts through multiple iterations of each campaign.

  • Utilizing design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite to create and refine visuals.

Outcome

The redesigned ad creative and social media posts successfully met the project’s goals. The new visuals not only maintained the integrity of The Melting Pot brand but also created a distinct identity online for The Melting Pot Social. Feedback from the client and the target audience was overwhelmingly positive, with increased engagement and a stronger brand presence on social media platforms.

Reflection

This project was a valuable learning experience in balancing brand consistency with innovative design. Through brainstorming, trial and error, and close collaboration with the design team, we developed a unique visual identity for The Melting Pot Social that resonated with a younger audience. Moving forward, I would continue to emphasize the importance of collaboration in creating impactful design solutions.
